Mr. V. K. Jagdish, former Director of the American Library at the U. S. Consulate, Chennai, addressed the students and staff of CUTN on 4 February, 2011. The talk titled, "Librarians as a Learning and Knowledge Resource Facilitators� emphasized the role of librarian and libraries in academic ventures. Peppered with anecdotes and interesting nuggets, the speech of Mr. Jagdish highlighted the importance of libraries in today’s world. The need for effective reading and sieving information from online sources were also stressed by him. Mr. Jadgish elaborated the role of librarians as information providers and knowledge disseminators. After the talk, Mr. Jagdish took time to answer some questions by students on books, libraries and library memberships.
