The Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, celebrated its Foundation Day along with the festival of lights, Deepavali on 3rd November 2010. The Festival was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. B. P. Sanjay and attended by the families of the Vice Chancellor and the Registrar, Shri. V. K. Sridhar, along with the students, faculty, non-teaching staff and guests of the University. The celebration was marked by plays, dance performances, a song, communal bonfire and dinner. While the impressive plays directed by Dr. P. Rajani left the audience spell-bound, the vibrant dance performances had them swaying to the music. The highlight of the event was the bursting of fire-crackers which enthralled the participants and the bonfire where everyone danced to the music and songs. The finale of the grand celebration was the dinner arranged for all those who were present. In short, the celebration was a feast to all the senses.
