The Department of Law was established in the academic year 2019-2020 and is presently offering Ph.D. in Law and LL.M. Programme (Two Years) in Corporate Law and Industrial Jurisprudence. The LL.M. Programme was offered to emphasize the emerging areas in the field of law, particularly in corporate and industrial jurisprudence, and also to develop research dimensions advancing social justice and gaining into the changes in the global legal system. Faculty with more expansive areas of research interests include International Trade Law, International Environmental Law, Biotechnology and Biodiversity Laws, Laws relating to Genetically Modified Organisms, Public International Law, International Humanitarian Laws, International Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Gender Justice, Corporate Law, Securities Law, Energy and Infrastructure Laws and Intellectual Property Laws.

Programmes Offered
LL.M. Programme (Two Years) – Corporate Law and Industrial Jurisprudence
The Department of Law offers the LL.M. curriculum in line with the National Education Policy, 2020, and the National Credit Framework recommendations. The Curriculum is OBE based since 2021 and contains the emerging areas of corporate and industrial-specific laws with a central focus on industrial skill development and research. The Department hasSmart Classrooms, and the faculty uses ICT-enabled techniques to facilitatestudents’ learning.The teaching pedagogy focuses on experiential, inquiry, and discovery-based learning methods.The Department provides resources for integrating students with disabilities and barrier-free access to education. The faculties are trained to identify learning difficulties, leverage the student’s strengths, and create an appropriate learning ecosystem. The program curriculum has been well drafted to include constitutional values, gender sensitization, socially disadvantaged groups, and their issues. The department focuses on improvising the research culture and knowledge creation among the students by encouraging them to perform a research component in most of the courses in the LL.M. curriculum. The students receive hands-on training to develop legal writing skills through structured practical assignments. The course components of core, elective, practical, and soft skills make the students learn the attributes of innovation strategies and become successful entrepreneurs.The department further assists the students in building the skills thorough out the semesters to attain employability. The department organizes various seminars by utilizing the expertise of industries/companies to enlighten the students about emerging needs and challenges.
The curricular and pedagogical structure makes the learning relevant to the developmental needs of students. The department transitions from a learner-centric to a skill-based model, an essential attribute of the NEP 2020.

LLB Degree or its equivalent with not less than 50% of marks (45% in case of SC/ST/PWD) in the aggregate in all the 3 years / 5 years of B.L / LLB Degree Course
