Biographic Sketch: Dr. Akhandanand Shukla, Ph.D. in Library & Information Science, has been serving as a Professor in the Department of Library & Information Science at the Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN), Thiruvarur, since December 2022. Prior to his current position, he served as Associate Professor in the department from December 2019 to December 2022. He was also the Head of the Department from January 12, 2021, to September 27, 2023. Before joining CUTN as an Associate Professor, Dr. Shukla worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Library & Information Science at Mizoram University starting in July 2010. Dr. Shukla completed his B.Sc. from Purvanchal University, Jaunpur, in 2003. He then pursued his BLIS (2004), M.Lib. & Inf. Sc. (2005), and Ph.D. (2009) from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. He was awarded the Gold Medal in M.Lib. & Inf. Sc. for securing first rank at BHU. Additionally, he qualified for the national-level UGC Research Fellowship (UGC-JRF) in his first attempt in 2005. Dr. Shukla’s research interests and specializations include Webometrics, Digital Libraries, Bibliometrics, Information Technology, and Classification Theory. He has published over 111 papers/articles in renowned research journals, conference proceedings, books, edited books, and book chapters, both nationally and internationally. He has also participated in more than 35 regional, national, and international conferences, seminars, and workshops. Dr. Shukla serves as a member of the editorial board and reviewer for several prestigious LIS journals. He has supervised the dissertation work of 25 students and scholars at the MLIS, M. Phil., and Ph.D. levels, and currently, five scholars are pursuing their research under his guidance at the Ph.D. level. He is a life member of professional associations such as ILA, IASLIC, and IATLIS. Additionally, he serves as a member/coordinator of various administrative bodies at both the departmental and university levels. In a brief tenure, Dr. Shukla also served as a Professor in the Department of Library & Information Science at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, from October 2023 to August 2024.
