Biographic Sketch:
Dr Kaushik Rajaram did his Post Graduation (MSc) in Microbiology from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. And he completed his PhD at Hasselt University, Belgium in the field of Biomedical science and he developed Dual phage display biosensors for the rapid and early diagnosis of auto-immune disease (multiple sclerosis), followed by he worked as a research assistant at the reputed Trinity College Dublin, Ireland in the field of antibody library and phage display. And then he worked as a National Postdoctoral fellow at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in the field of molecular diagnostics. In the year 2017 December, he joined as an Assistant Professor of Microbiology at the Central University of Tamil Nadu. Currently, he is running a nano-biomaterials and Phage lab, and he is guiding 3 PhD students and completed 16 MSc dissertations. He has published 15 research articles, 7 book chapters and 1 patent (published) in his credit.

Research Highlights :

Dr. Kaushik Rajaram's lab is focussing on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and work on antimicrobial nanomaterials, polymers, phage and antimicrobial peptides. His lab also develops scaffolds for wound healing, consisting of antimicrobial materials and wound healing promotors. They also work on phage combinations, and efflux pump inhibitors to potentiate the antibiotics.
