Biographic Sketch:
Dr. Sangeetha Sriraam is an accomplished academician and Assistant Professor of Law at the Central University of Tamil Nadu. With a Ph.D. from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), she has over six years of teaching experience and an extensive background in Gender Justice, Human Rights Law, Bioethics, Insolvency Law, and Public International Law. Dr. Sriraam is a founding faculty of the Department of Law, where she served as the first Head (i/c) of the Department and played a key role in curriculum development, particularly for the LL.M. program. She is also recognised for her contributions to institutional policy, having chaired the Gender Audit of the university and drafted its Gender Policy. She supervises postgraduate and doctoral research on gender and sexuality-related legal issues, and remains committed to advancing inclusive legal discourse through both scholarship and public legal education. In her academic career, Dr. Sriraam has published widely in prestigious journals and includes a significant number of SCOPUS-indexed articles and book chapters. She has also edited “A Comprehensive Guide on Gender-Related Laws in India”, further demonstrating her commitment to gender justice and social reform. Dr. Sriraam has been honoured with several awards for her research, including multiple Best Paper Awards at national and international conferences. A gold medallist in her undergraduate studies, she has a distinguished record of scholarly excellence, which has led to numerous invited lectures and participation in notable conferences globally. She also currently serves as the Central Public Information Officer of CUTN.
