Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE) at the Central University of Tamil Nadu is established in the month of April 2022 by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. The Ministry has approved Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence in 30 Central Universities to coach Scheduled Castes students in competitive exams by providing the best coaching facilities. Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE) is to empower Scheduled Caste (SC) students in competitive exams by providing better opportunities for learning and excellence through quality coaching, personality, personality development and acquisition of competitive skills. DACE will play a significant role in the holistic development of SC students. The objective of the Scheme is to provide high-quality free coaching facilities to the Scheduled Caste students for the Civil Services examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and other competitive examinations. It will empower SC candidates through good quality coaching and fulfil the goal of enhancing their competitive skills.
DACE at CUTN
The Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE) at the Central University of TamilNadu was inaugurated on 3rd October 2022 by Shri.Rajavelu, Honourable Deputy Speaker, Government of Puducherry, Pondicherry. Prof. M. Krishnan, Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Tamil Nadu presided over the inaugural function. The orientation class for the students was started on the same day and since then the regular classes are going on as per the Action Plan submitted to the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. So far, 75 students have been admitted to Civil Services Free Coaching offered by DACE. The contract faculty members working at DACE and the experts from outside are handling various sessions for preparing the students for the Civil Services examination. The Nodal Officer, Programme Coordinator, and the Convener and other Members of the DACE Committee have been constantly monitoring the functioning of DACE.
