Biographic Sketch:
Dr. S. Rajkumar is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, India. He completed his BSc in Chemistry with a gold medal from Government Arts College, Nandanam, Chennai, and his MSc in Chemistry from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, Chennai. He then pursued his PhD at VIT University, Vellore, India, where he was awarded a CSIR-SRF under the guidance of Prof. Thirumanavelan Gandhi. His research project focused on "Ru(II)-catalyzed--carboline and phthalazinones/pyridazinones directed C-H, C-H/N-H, C-H/O-H activation and functionalization-Isolation of cycloruthenated complexes and its application towards anticancer study." During his postdoctoral studies, he further honed his skills at ShanghaiTech University, China, delving into asymmetric enamide functionalization and kinetic resolution reactions utilizing BINOL and SPINOL-based phosphoric acid catalyst reactions. Subsequently, his pursuit of excellence led him to secure the Korean Research Fellowship (Brain Pool Fellow) and National Research Fellow funded grants, where he served as a principal investigator at Kyungpook National University, South Korea in the field of radiopharmaceutical development for cancer diagnosis. Later, he contributed as a Research Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, USA, where he deepened his understanding the radiosynthesis of nanoparticles, antibody-drug conjugates, and small molecules tailored for targeted drug delivery in cancer imaging and radiotherapy applications.
   
Research Highlights :

We are medicinal chemist our research group mainly focusing on themetal catalyst C-H activation and asymmetric catalytic reaction for the drug development in cancer diagnosis and therapy.

  • Esterase enzyme responsive tumor targeted drug delivery.
  • Site selective antibody drug conjugation.
  • Boron Neutron Capture therapy.
