Biographic Sketch:
Dr. S. Ravikumar is a distinguished academic and researcher, currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science at the Central University of Tamil Nadu. With an M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D., his doctoral research explored the evaluation of web-based health information. He brings over 24 years of combined experience in industry and academia—seven years in the former and 17 years in the latter—establishing himself as a prominent expert in Library and Information Science. His research interests encompass a diverse range of topics, including Scientometrics and Bibliometrics, Metadata Standards, Digital libraries and Technology Integration, Altmetrics, Webometrics, and Impact of Affirmative action on research productivity in academia. His scholarly work has significantly advanced the understanding of citation patterns, academic productivity, and the transformative role of digital technology in library science. He is passionately committed to mentoring and teaching the next generation of library science professionals. He focuses on Bibliometrics, Digital Libraries, and Research Methodologies, aiming to equip his students with the skills and knowledge to thrive in an evolving information landscape.
