Biographic Sketch:
Prof. S. V. S. S. Narayana Raju is a distinguished academician, researcher, author, and administrator currently serving as Professor and Head, Department of Hindi, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur. With over 28 years of teaching experience and 28 years of research supervision, he has made Significant contributions to the fields of Hindi language, literature, research, and higher education administration.
A recipient of the prestigious Leadership for Academicians Programme (LEAP) sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, Prof. Raju successfully completed the intensive leadership training conducted by the University of Hyderabad in partnership with Monash University, Melbourne, Australia (2019). This international exposure strengthened his academic leadership and institutional management capabilities.
Prof. Raju served as Visiting Professor of Hindi (India Chair) at the Department of Indology, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski,” Sofia, Bulgaria, from 2010 to 2012, where he actively promoted Hindi language and Indian culture at the international level.
Throughout his academic career, he has held several important leadership positions. In addition to serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Hindi, he has also served as Dean, School of Social Sciences and Humanities, and as a Member of the Executive Council and Academic Council of the Central University of Tamil Nadu.
In recognition of his literary contributions, he received the prestigious Telugu Bhashi Hindi Yuva Lekhak Award from the Andhra Pradesh Hindi Academy, Government of Andhra Pradesh, in 2009.
As an accomplished scholar and author, Prof. Raju has authored five significant books with ISBN Number. Mohan Rakesh ke Natakon Mein Vastugat Prayog, Moolyanveshak Kavi Dr. Dharmaveer Bharati, Mohan Rakesh: Vyakti Evam Rachana. Rangmanch ke Natakkar Mohan Rakesh, Further extending his contribution to literary and cultural studies, he translated the acclaimed Hindi transgender novel My Payal into Telugu under the title Payal Ane Nenu.
Prof. Raju has published more than 260 research papers in reputed national and international journals and has presented scholarly papers at 24 international and 63 national conferences and seminars. His research guidance has produced 23 Ph.D. Scholars and 69 M.Phil. Scholars, reflecting his longstanding commitment to academic mentorship and research excellence.
He has served on the editorial boards of several reputed Hindi journals and magazines and continues to contribute actively to academic publishing.
An accomplished orator, Prof. Raju has delivered numerous lectures and radio talks in both Hindi and Telugu. To date, he has delivered 29 radio talks in Hindi and 5 radio talks in Telugu, popularizing language, literature, and cultural studies among wider audiences.
His academic expertise is widely recognized across India.
He has served as a NAAC Peer Team Member, Selection Committee Member, Question Paper Setter, Evaluator, and Doctoral Thesis Adjudicator for several universities and higher educational institutions.
Committed to digital education and knowledge dissemination, Prof. Raju has developed and uploaded more than 1,400 E-lecture videos through his YouTube channel and academic blog. His educational content has received over 7 Lakh views, benefiting students, researchers, teachers, and competitive examination aspirants across the globe.
