Biographic Sketch:
Dr. Sigamani Panneer is a Professor, Dean School of Behavioural Sciences and Head, Department of Social Work, School of Social Sciences and Humanities; Coordinator, Centre for Happiness, Central University of Tamil Nadu and former Coordinator, Department of Applied Psychology, School of Behavioural Sciences, CUTN. Mentor Professor, Department of Social Work Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. He has been a Visiting Research Professor at the School of Public Health, University of Minnesota, USA; Visiting Professor, Jishou University, China; Guest Professor, Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Tianjin, China ad Visiting Professor, Department of Management Studies, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, Affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore. He has authored articles of national and international repute published by (1) Palgrave Macmillan, (2) Macmillan Publishers Ltd, (3) Sage, (4) Springer, (5) Wiley, (6) Elsevier, (7) BMC Tobacco Induced Diseases, (8) Bloomsbury, (9) Economic and Political Weekly (10) Science and (11) Cambridge Scholars, (12) Michigan Publishing etc. and 22 academic reference books published by Macmillan, Springer and Bloomsbury. Dr. Sigamani Panneer is a distinguished researcher, credited as, being the Principal Investigator (PI) of major research project funded by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi; Co-PI of Extramural Research Project funded by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi; Co-PI of Global Spotlight Research Project funded by University of Minnesota, USA and Co-PI of Indo-US 21st Century Knowledge initiative project funded by University Grants Commission (UGC) through United States- India Educational Foundation (USIEF). He has conducted research in various areas relating to climate change, disaster management, new public health management, drug delivery system, public private partnerships in healthcare, occupational health and women’s health.
