Dr. P. Sakthivel is Professor of Law in the Department of Law, Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN). He holds a Ph.D. in Law from the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, a Master of Law specialising in International Law and Constitutional Law, a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights from the University of Madras, and a Master's degree in History. Before joining CUTN in 2026, he served for nearly two decades at the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University in various academic and administrative capacities. His teaching and research encompass Environmental Law, International Law, Constitutional Law, Human Rights, Water Law, and Climate Change Law. He has published extensively in reputed national and international books and journals. He is the Course Coordinator of the SWAYAM MOOC titled Polar Science, Arctic Governance, Policy and Law. He has also served as Senior Coordinator for an international consultancy on water governance funded by the Centre for Environmental Management and Decision Support, Vienna, and has actively contributed to legal education through curriculum development, academic leadership, invited lectures, and research collaborations in India and abroad.
