Biographic Sketch:
Dr.Veerabhadram Bhukya is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work, School of Social Sciences and Humanities, Central University of Tamil Nadu, India. He holds an impressive array of academic qualifications, including a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a specialization in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations, a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Sociology, and a Master of Arts in Philosophy. He has cleared the UGC-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) in Social Work. His academic journey culminated in the award of both an M.Phil. in Sociology and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Social Work from the prestigious Osmania University, Hyderabad, Telangana one of India’s leading institutions for social science research. Previously, Dr. Bhukya served as the Head and Chairperson of the Board of Studies in the Department of Social Work. During his tenure as Chairperson of the Board of Studies (2019-2020), he played a pivotal role in developing and designing the CBCS-based curriculum and syllabus structure for Social Work at both postgraduate and pre-Ph.D. levels. He has also held numerous administrative and academic positions at Telangana University. He was awarded the Inter-University Associateship by the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS-Rashtrapati Nivas), Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, in 2022 and 2023 a recognition conferred by one of India’s most prestigious research institutions. IIAS is an institution of national importance, known for fostering interdisciplinary scholarship of the highest order. A prolific scholar, Dr. Bhukya has authored and published numerous research papers in journals indexed in UGC CARE, ABDC, and Scopus. He has further contributed to academic discourse by writing chapters in several edited volumes. His research spans a wide range of critical and emerging themes in social work, reflecting both theoretical depth and practical relevance. He has also actively participated in many national and international conferences and seminars. His professional journey reflects a commendable balance between academic rigor and practical engagement in social work. His areas of interest and expertise include, Generic Social Work Education, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Youth Empowerment, Social Entrepreneurship, Indigenous Tribal Spirituality and Philosophy, and Indigenous Knowledge and Practices.
