Biographic Sketch:
Currently, I am working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, India. I have joined the university as a regular faculty since March 2020. Prior to that, I was engaged as a contractual faculty (June 2018 March 2020) at CUTN. I obtained the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt International Climate Protection Fellowship funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB), Government of Germany. Under the fellowship, I worked as the Post-doctoral Researcher in Land Surface Dynamics Group, German Remote Sensing Data Center (DFD), German Aerospace Center (DLR), Oberpfaffenhofen, Wessling, Munich from April 2017 to March 2018. In 2015, I was awarded Green Talents Young Researcher Award for Sustainability Research from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), Government of Germany and did my research internship for three months (July 2016 to September 2016) at DFD DLR, Oberpfaffenhofen, Wessling, Munich. I completed my Ph.D. in 2016 from Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. My PhD thesis was about the application of contemporary hyperspectral remote sensing to identify mangrove species in Indian east coast at species level for framing effective monitoring and conservation strategies.

Research Highlights :

Our research group is interested involving Remote Sensing Time Series Data, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Geostatistical tools to evaluate different landscape processes and spatial problems. Specifically we are more interested to work on research themes such as Estuarine Ecosystem Assessment, Coastal Wetlands, Sustainable Coastal Aquaculture, Microplastics Pollution, Paleogeography, and Spatial Epidemiology.
