Biographic Sketch:
Dr. K. G. Sudhier is an Assistant Professor at the Dept. of Library & Information Science, School of Communication, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Tiruvarur. Prior to this, he was associated with the University of Kerala with various academic and administrative assignments including as an Assistant Professor. He has several years of teaching, research, professional and administrative experience in the university level. Dr. Sudhier holds a PhD and MLISc degree from the University of Kerala; MSc (Phys.) and BLISc from the Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and qualified UGC-NET&JRF. Under his supervision 06 PhDs (pursuing 04), 10 MPhils and 50+ MLISc Degrees have been awarded. An author of over 65 papers in peer- reviewed accredited journals and over 120 papers in conferences, seminar proceedings, chapters in books and popular articles. He is the author of the book, Informteric studies forwarded by Dr. Gangan Prathap and edited other 04 books. Dr. Sudhier is the Principal Investigator of the DST-NSTMIS Major Project of the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Ministry of S&T, Government of India and Project Director of the ICSSR Project. He has also organized and chaired numerous conferences, seminars and workshops in the LIS domain. He is frequently invited as chairperson and keynote speaker in seminars and conferences, as a resource person (including UGC-HRDCs) and is a member PG Board of Studies (BoS) in LIS in the University of Kerala and Central University of Tamil Nadu. Dr. Sudhier is a very active academician with various contributions in LIS domain as Author, Reviewer, Editor and Resource Person in many scholarly events and groups. He is a member of almost all the professional associations in the country and is identified as one of the most prolific and highly cited Indian contributor in the area of scientometrics and scholarly publications. He has awarded with the Best Teacher Award- 2021 by the Madras Library Association (MALA), Chennai and the President Scout Award by the Hon. President of India. Research Highlights :

Dr. K. G. Sudhier’s research interests in Library & Information Science involve scientometrics, scholarly communication, ontological studies and social networking. His contributions are related to scientometrics and informetric studies on physics and bioinformatics. He has published 65 research articles in peer- reviewed and indexed journals.

Dr. Sudhier is identified as one of the most prolific and highly cited Indian authors in the area of Bibliometrics and Scientometrics during 1995-2014 (Total no. of citations 58, Citation per Paper 5.8 & Relative Citation Impact 0.6). Listed in the most prolific Indian authors in Indian Library & Information Science Research indexed by Indian Citation Index (ICI) during 2004-15 (among 2247 Indian authors contributed 2428 papers). Ranked as one of the top authors in the Indian Information Science and scientometrics research output during 2011-2015 based on Indian Science Abstracts (CSIR-NISCAIR). Also ranked as 5th prolific Indian author during 2001-2010 in the India’s research performance in LIS.
