Biographic Sketch:
I am Dr. M. Manoprabha working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics and Applied Mathematics. I have completed my doctorate degree in Statistics at Manonmaniam Sundaranar University in the year 2021. My area of research is on Markov Chain Modeling for Chronic Diseases. I did my M. Sc and M. Phil in Statistics under Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. After my Ph. D I joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at Fatima College, Madurai and worked there from July 2021 to Jan 2023. And worked as a Guest Lecturer in the Department of Statistics at Government Arts and Science College, Sankarankovil from Jan 2023 to Jun 2023. During my research I published 5 papers in reputed journals. And participated in many national and international conferences.

Research Highlights :

My area of research is on Markov Chain Modeling for Chronic Diseases. The research work focus on applying stochastic modelling in health care systems. We have studied about the most challenging deadly diseases like HIV, Myocardial Infarction, Breast Cancer, Diabetes and Kidney
Diseases.

Used the Higher order Markov Chain to study the disease progression and the effectiveness of the treatment given to the patients and found out the dependency between the current stage of the patients with their previous stage.

Used profile Hidden Markov model to find the probabilistic sequence patterns that a family of chronic disease DNA sequence follows, Carried out a case study and performed the survival analysis and calculated the survival probability of the patients in different timescale, the factors that negatively affect the outcome of the patients has also been estimated.

We have applied the data mining algorithm for prediction of chronic diseases and it will be useful in predicting the disease in early stage and treat them. Our research offers a quantitative tool for estimating future resources required by each component of the health services. All these research has been carried out using R, Python, and SPSS and Rapid Miner software’s.

Based on my Credentials University has awarded me Dr. M. G. Ramachandran Centenary Research Fellowship. I have presented three research papers in both national and international conferences. And also actively participated in several training programmes. During the research period I also done a certificate course offered by NPTEL on Introduction to R software.
