Biographic Sketch:
Dr. Vithya V is presently working as Assistant Professor and Head i/c of the Department of Applied Psychology. She had completed her PhD from University of Madras in 2015. She holds a master’s degree Clinical Psychology and M. Phil Degree. Her field of Specialization are Clinical Psychology, School Psychology, Media and Mental Health, Disaster Mental health, maternal Mental health and Adolescent Mental health. She has 8 years teaching experience and 14 years of research experience in the field of Psychology. She had received young scientist award in 2018 from the Governing Council of Indian School Psychology Association and the award is instituted by Prof. Erika Vogit, School Psychologist, Germany. She had received Prof. Durgan and Sinha Dissertation Award by National Academy of Psychology (NAOP) in 2018. She is a life member of Indian Academy of Applied Psychology and Indian School Psychology Association.

   
Research Highlights :

Dr. Vithya V has completed two funded projects ICSSR IMPRESS Project entitled The Impact of natural Disaster on the Mental Health of Rescue Workers from April 2019 to March 2020.
UGC Stride Internal Project (2022) Ocean warming and Sustainable Fishing: Communication Strategies to Minimize Ecological Impact and Promote Effective Management.
Have guided 1 M.Phil. and 27 PG Dissertations. Currently guiding 4 Ph.D. Scholars.
