Biographic Sketch:
T. Mohan Das completed his undergraduate and post graduate degrees from Gandhigram Rural Institute, Dindigul and the American College, Madurai respectively. He received his doctoral degree from IIT Bombay, Mumbai, India under the guidance of Prof. C. P. Rao. He moved over to National Chung-Hsing University (NCHU), Taiwan and worked with Prof. Der-Hang Chin on Anti-cancer drug: Neocarzinostatin. He worked for another one year at National Tsing-Hua University, Taiwan with Prof. J. R. Hwu and carried out studies on Silicon assisted photochemical reactions. After successful completion of post-doctoral research, he joined the Department of Organic Chemistry, University of Madras in the year 2004. He is a recipient of Young Scientist award from DST Young Scientist Scheme. Prof. Das was awarded with Dr H C Srivastava Memorial Award in the year 2015 by Association of Carbohydrate Chemists and Technologists of India (ACCTI) and also executive member of ACCTI. Later in the year 2013, he moved to Central University of Tamil Nadu as Associate Professor and in 2017, he was promoted to Professor. He is currently working as a professor in the Department of Chemistry and Dean, School of Basic Sciences, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu. India. He has guided more than ten PhDs and successfully completed 6 research projects and filed one Indian patent. He has published more than 80 research articles in international peer reviewed journals. His research group is working in the area of Carbohydrate Chemistry.
