Biographic Sketch:
Attained doctorate in Journalism and Mass Communication, and Postgraduation in Electronic media from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. In addition to acquiring eligibility in academics, qualified for the University Grants Commission's NET (National Eligibility Test) and Tamilnadu SET (State Eligibility Test) in 2014 and 2011 respectively. Having 16 years of experience in teaching visual communication and electronic media undergraduate and postgraduate programs at various colleges in Tamil Nadu. Taught a variety of courses, including Television Production Techniques, Electronic Media Production, Digital Photography, and Film making. Currently teaching Television studies, Video production, Quantitative data analysis, Media Literacy, and Digital Photography Techniques. Research interests include Media, Parenting and Children, Gerontechnology, Cultural Communication. Completed projects sponsored by UGC-STRIDE, ICSSR, NCRI in the field of social sciences. Having technical expertise in Digital Media Production inspecific to audio and video editing and production applications. Got recognitions and awards in various national and international competitions for film production, to mention a few; International Film Festival dedicated to Mental Health, Chennai (2014), Norway international film festival (2012). Interested to explore all possible methods in the field of Media, Technology and Society with reference to Cultural Communication.

Conducted study on Ethics, Autonomy, Privacy and Regulation: Balancing the Social Media Spheres of Political Influence funded  by ICSSR, New delhi.

Conducted study on Ocean Warming and Sustainable Fishing: Communication Strategies to Minimise Ecological Impact and Promote Effective Management under UGC STRIDE Component I Internal research project.

Conducted study on Towards Effective Implementation of SBM: Evaluation of awareness, Access, Adoption, Usage and Barriers using the Health Belief Model (HBM) funded by NCRI, Hyderabad.

Conducted study on the Influence of Social Media on Academic performance of college students in Coimbatore funded  by ICSSR, New delhi.

Developed rubrics for Gestural Communication Assessment

Working in the area of Media, Children and Parenting in the Digital Age, and Development of

Automated Mediation Tools and Strategies for parental concerns.
