Biographic Sketch:
Dr. B. Muthu Pandian is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce, School of Commerce and Business Management at the Central University of Tamil Nadu, joining in March 2026. He previously served for eleven years at Sikkim University (A Central University) in the Department of Commerce, School of Professional Studies. He holds M.Com., MBA (Finance), M.Phil., Ph.D. (Commerce), and PG Diplomas in Statistics & Research Methods, and Computer Applications. He has also cleared UGC NET in Commerce and Management and is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Psychology. Dr. BM Pandian’s doctoral research at Pondicherry University (A Central University) focused on Property (Exotic) Derivatives, with his thesis proposing a conceptual model for an online property spot and index-based derivatives exchange. His team, comprising his doctoral research fellow and colleague, developed the innovation “A System for Generating a Composite Risk Index (CRI) for Financial Markets),” which earned international recognition through the granting of a German patent. He is also co-author of “Statistical Methods for Practice and Research: A Guide to Data Analysis Using JAMOVI.”. His expertise spans finance, financial markets, financial modelling, data analytics, and computer applications in business and research. Through his teaching, research, and publications, Dr. Pandian contributes to advancing transparency and efficiency in banking and finance, with a particular focus on financial technologies and Decentralized Finance (DeFi).

   
Research Highlights :

Dr. BM Pandian’s core research interests lie in Banking and Finance especially the Financial Markets, with a strong focus on the application of Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and emerging technologies. His proposed post-doctoral research proposal is titled on “The Role and Application of Blockchain Technology for Infusing Transparency in the Indian Real Estate Market.”
