Biographic Sketch:
DR Dileep Kumar V R, Carnatic Vocalist was born to Sri V N Raman Namboothiri and Smt. Balamani in 1975 at Vellattanjoor in Thrissur district Kerala. He started music learning at the age of 7 under Sri K M Krishnan Namboothiri and continuing training under the Great exponent Sangeetha Kalacharya Sri Mangad K Natesan (TOP Grade retired staff artiste of All India Radio Thrissur). Dr Dileep Kumar bagged A grade in Carnatic Vocal from All India Radio and Doordarsan at the age of 19. He has performed in most of the prominent venues across the country and abroad accompanied by various senior Vidwans. Dileep Kumar is an Empaneled artiste of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Along with his professional Career, Dileep Kumar has successfully completed his MA and PhD in Music from Kannur University, Kerala in the year 2005 and 2014 respectively. Before joining in the Department of Music, Central University of Tamil Nadu in 2020, he has served as lecturer in various Universities in Kerala.
