Biographic Sketch:
Dr. Puja Sardar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at the School of Earth Sciences, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, India. Prior to this, she held the role of Faculty (Contractual) in Geography at Satyendra Nath Tagore Civil Services Study Centre, Centre for Excellence in Public Management,Government of West Bengal, Kolkata from December 2023 to August 2025. She also served as a Guest Faculty in the Department of Geography, at Tara Devi Harakh Chand Kankaria Jain College, Kolkata from April 2023 to December 2023. Dr. Puja Sardar completed her Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Calcutta (2024), where her research focused on Rural Architecture and Use of Space of Coastal West Bengal and Odisha. She completed her M.Sc. (2015) and B.Sc. (2013) from the University of Calcutta.Her areas of specialization include social and cultural geography, geography of tourism, rural geography, settlement geography and visual method. She has received international travel grants from ICAS 13 and visited Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand for research presentations.Her current research focuses on marginalised community, livelihood studies, gender, space, tourism, and creative method.
